National Rescue Movement (NRM) welcomes the Notice of 2021 Local Government Election in Ekiti State with good fate.

...warned the Government of APC not to muzzle up Opposition Parties in Ekiti.

The National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Ekiti State has welcome the idea of conducting 2021 Statutory Local Government Election already slated for December 4, 2021 by the Ekiti State Independent National Electoral Commission, EKSIEC, but warned that the Opposition Parties must not be muzzled by Government of APC in quest to participate in the Election.

NRM which is one of the 18 Registered Political Parties in Ekiti State while speaking through its State Publicity Secretary, Omooba Jide Ogunlola with the pressmen on Friday stated that, it is a common knowledge that the current Government of Ekiti State is not affable with Opposition Political Parties, which to NRM is not-worth-mentioning, nondescript, but just to make it known to the public, and the for Democratic right of these Opposition Parties not to be denied.

According to Ogunlola, any attempt to frustrate other Political Parties from Participating in this Election will spell doom for the exercise. He goes further to call on the EKSIEC, headed by a revered Justice to maintain a statutory position of the Commission as an Independent Electoral body.

Court sacks Inter-party Council’s National Chairman, Peter Ameh   By Eric Ikhilae, Abuja A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo has declared as illegal the continued occupation of the office of the Chairman of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) by Chief Peter Ameh. In a judgment on Monday, Justice Binta Mohammed held that Ameh could no longer remain in office as IPAC Chairman, because his political party, Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) was one of the 74 parties recently de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The judgement was in a suit by National Unity Party (NUP) with which it challenged the decision by the 18 political parties (that were left as member of IPAC after the de-registration of the 74 parties) to appoint an interim Chairman. The NUP had prayed the court to declare that the interim management committee put in place by the 18 political parties, was not validly elected, therefore, cannot run the affairs of...
