Oshiomole-Obaseki's Unholy Matrimony (Part 1) - Deji Oso

Oshiomole-Obaseki's Unholy Matrimony (Part 1) - Deji Oso

Adedeji Oso, a former student leader, current Chairman EKSU Alumni Ekiti State Chapter is an Administrator at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. In his own opinion which made public stated the following as factors playing out in the battle between Adams Oshiohmole, the APC National Chairman and Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor who recently disqualified by his party APC in his quest to seek for second term in Office:

1. Leprose Hands of Godfatherism
2. Patronage Politics of Clientelism
3. Corrupt Elite Recruitment Process
4. Power Conflicts and Struggle for Dominance
5. Thirst for Intra-Party Degodfatherism
6. Dictatorship of Surrogateship
7. Betrayal, Vengeance & Political Survivalism

According to Adedeji Oso who is a political scientist, "Godfatherism is systemic, It is found in all aspects of our social, political or traditional society. He goes further that, "when you fight godfatherism, it kicks and fights you back.

Also said that, "Obaseki may not have erred for his attempted cession or breakaway from his erstwhile godfather-Oshiomole since in politics, there is no permanent friendship or enmity but interest. He erred by not preparing sufficiently well ahead of the consequences and implications of the risk he took." On the part of Oshiomole, I hope this would not backfire too, "Deji Oso queried."

Apparently, according to him, the next few weeks will be quite intriguing as we hope to witness new accounts and revelations in the build-up of the governorship election in Edo State, Nigeria.

Court sacks Inter-party Council’s National Chairman, Peter Ameh   By Eric Ikhilae, Abuja A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo has declared as illegal the continued occupation of the office of the Chairman of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) by Chief Peter Ameh. In a judgment on Monday, Justice Binta Mohammed held that Ameh could no longer remain in office as IPAC Chairman, because his political party, Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) was one of the 74 parties recently de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The judgement was in a suit by National Unity Party (NUP) with which it challenged the decision by the 18 political parties (that were left as member of IPAC after the de-registration of the 74 parties) to appoint an interim Chairman. The NUP had prayed the court to declare that the interim management committee put in place by the 18 political parties, was not validly elected, therefore, cannot run the affairs of...
